The greatest destruction in Sodom
Only Lot's family escaped
When we consider the surge in sins, it appears that we are living in the last days. The Lord Jesus Christ said that the last days would be exactly as they were in the days of Lot (Luke 17:28). Lot pitched his tent directly near Sodom and lived in it. When the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, only Lot and his family escaped.
Prosperous cities
The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were as prosperous as the garden of the Lord and the land of Egypt. When Lot departed from Abram, he lifted his eyes and pitched his tent directly near Sodom. He lived there with his family (Genesis 13:9-12).
The outcry was great
The people of Sodom were wicked and the
greatest sinners before the Lord (Genesis 13:13). They were constantly
committing sins. Sexual harassment was rampant there. The city was plagued by
rampant sins such as homosexual acts, prostitution, and sodomites. Thus the
outcry of those cities became great in God's presence (Genesis 18:20).
Righteous
The city is flooded with unclean spirits. The spirits that provoke sexual desires are more likely to be unleashed. Yet, the Scripture called Lot who lived there, as righteous (2 Peter 2:8). What is the reason? No matter how many unclean spirits worked there, no matter how many emotions were aroused, he could not dare to sin because he was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard). He defended himself holy.
Sin did not come into Lot's family
While living in the unclean city of
Sodom, Lot did not sin as long as he and his wife were there, because he
defended himself holy. The two children and his wife did not sin as long as
they were there because righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul by
the lawless deeds he saw and heard. Perhaps they do not think of sin. But, for
Lot's sake, they were not allowed to sin deliberately.
The LORD rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. He overthrew all those cities, all the inhabitants, and all the vegetation of the land. Lot's family escaped from the devastation. The angels took Lot's hand, his wife's, and his two daughters' hands and led them out of the city (Genesis 19:16). Lot escaped. But Lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. The reason for this is different.
You too can escape
The Holy Spirit is speaking to you
through this prophetic message sent from heaven to the inhabitants of heaven:
Sexual sins are becoming more common in these last days. It is only going to
get worse. People will deliberately commit heinous sins like the cities of
Sodom and Gomorrah. Our own eyes will see this. In those times, when we protect
ourselves from committing these sins deliberately and defiling holiness by
looking at others, these sins will not enter into our family. You and your family
will be escaped from the destruction that comes from sin.
Make a decision right now while
reading this. Commit that I will not sin deliberately. Heavenly God who looks
at your commitment, bless by protecting you from the sins and destruction of
Sodom. Amen.
(Glory be to the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.... This is a precious mystery. Meditate
on this repeatedly, and SHARE it with your friends. It will be a blessing to
you.)
