Ego
All praise, honor, glory, renown, fame, and pride be to God, the Father of heaven, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I extend our warmest greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ on behalf of Prophetic Words Ministry, for those of you who have eagerly clicked the link to read the prophetic message entitled "Ego." The word 'Ego'in english means prestige, dignity and arrogance.'Ego' is the devil's toolfor blocking blessings from God. In the holy scripture, a man of God commits suicide by giving space to ego.Let us meditate how this occurred and explore it through scripture. Read on with prayer.
When the Lord Jesus Christ was in the house of Simon the leper in Bethany, a woman brought a bottle of precious perfume worth 300 silver coins and poured it on His head. The whole house was filled with fragrance. Seeing this the disciples were indignant. Of them Judas Iscariot was furious and said that had the perfume been sold, the money could have been given to the poor but Jesus said "Don't bother her. She has done a good deed to me. The poor are always with you but I won't be always with you".
The Money bag had been entrusted with Judas and quite quite often he used to steal from it. Above all Jesus testifies that the woman had done a good deed. Now this pricks the pride of Judas since his words where not heeded and he is also reprimanded by Jesus. This gives the space for Satan to enter into him and provokes his ego. Read Mathew chapter 26:14 carefully. Now Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve apostles, decides to betray Jesus and goes to the Cheif Priest. This he decides only after Jesus admonishes him on the other hand protecting the sinful woman. He seethes with rage that Jesus praised her.
Ego entered his heart, hardens it and provokes him to betray Jesus, at the same time make money out of it. Ego provokes a man to act as such and also in diverse ways. 'Ego' in the husband or in the wife, provokes them, to seek revenge since their advice wasn't heeded.Now we see in the chapter 16 of Mathew, Peter saying to Jesus " Lord, this must never happen to you". Jesus rebukes him saying, " Get away from me, Satan"! Though a harsh rebuke, Peter didn't allow ego to come in the way of his relationship with Jesus. Shunning ego he accompanies Jesus to pray in the mountain top. He is silent because he accepts the fact that Jesus had the right to admonish him as his Lord. This thought gives him peace in his soul (Mathew 16).
In the last days of His ministry Judas betrays him. Jesus called him, friend (Mathew 26:50). Ego, prevents all from understanding the love of Jesus. He fails to know that he can receive mercy if pleads for. Hence he takes the extreme step and hangs himself. The end result is terrible.
By denying Jesus three times Peter commits a graver sin than Judas. Yet Peter like a child and had no ego in him. Basically he understood the grace of heaven as well as the love of Jesus. Hence he receives forgiveness and resumed his ministry. Peter could feel the heavenly grace which Judas couldn't because of ego. Such is the sorry state of husband and wife having ego. They fail to enjoy the love of each other.
Many husbands, likewise wives have committed
suicide due to ego. Many servants of God have left the fellowship, infact gone
away from God. Therefore withstand ego and become a child. This Ego, which
gives rise to divisions in the congregations should be dealt with and castout.
